Please thoroughly read through each of the following sections before attending the New Team Member Orientation.
We are excited to have you joining our team at Chick-fil-A Village Commons. You and a few of our other team members will be attending our New Team Member Orientation in the coming weeks. Please be sure to check your email for the date and time of this orientation. At the orientation we will be going over many of our store policies, ensuring everyone has access to the applications that will be needed while you are a member of the Village Commons team, and completing any and all outstanding paperwork before beginning your training. If you have not presented the documents needed for your I-9 verification, you must have them present at this orientation or risk having your training delayed until the next New Team Member Orientation, which is typically held every two weeks.
Before the orientation it is important to complete the steps below so that we can begin your training as smoothly and quickly as possible.
We are excited to have you join our team and the training team and I look forward to working with you in the weeks to come. If you have any further questions about the onboarding or training process please do not hesitate to ask them in person at the meeting or through email at cfareston@gmail.com
The first order of business is to get your uniforms ordered. You will see a form for ordering uniforms and and any outerwear you might require. As a new team member you will need to order one red polo, one pair of gray pants and, in the accessories section, one cow-print face mask and one belt. This will allow us to have your uniforms ordered as soon as possible and hopefully have them fully available by the time you are scheduled for on the floor training the week following your orientation. At the end of the form please make sure to select that you are eligible for a free uniform as a new hire. You may also order any outerwear that you would like from the other form, though outerwear is not provided by the store and must be paid for by the team member making the request. These will be paid for when you receive the outerwear, not when ordering.
Team members who work on average 30 hours per week or more will receive two free uniforms. Team members who work on average less than 30 hours per week will receive one free uniform. Your free uniform consists of pants, shirt, belt, and nametag. Other items, such as visors, may be provided depending upon your position. It is the team member’s responsibility to keep the uniforms clean and in good condition for each shift. In addition to the pieces provided, all team members are required to source their own pair of black, non-slip work shoes. These can be found all any major shoe retailer and most department stores. It is highly encouraged for new team members to wear these shoes to the New Team Member Orientation as a tour of the restaurant will take them through our store's Back of House.
All jackets worn while at work must be Chick-fil-A branded outerwear from the OOBE TeamStyle collection or must be solid black with logos no larger than 2" by 2".
Additional appearance standards will be covering during your orientation process.
All new team members must have the following applications downloaded before the orientation so we can ensure everyone has proper access and understands how to utilize the application functions:
These applications will be discussed in more detail during your orientation to ensure all team members fully understand their functions and have full access to their accounts. Team members may receive an email from Chick-fil-A and HotSchedules asking to set up accounts before the orientation This may be completed in advance to streamline the orientation process. If one or more of the account activations does not work, it will be resolved during the orientation.
Scheduling is completed and distributed through the HotSchedules App (HS Teams). All requests or changes must be completed through this application. The use and functions of this application will covered during the orientation process.
